This is an issue of sight into what is right and what is wrong. Recognizing deception and properly responding to deception is essential for faith-based people in this generation. When we hear a speech such as that presented by Mr. Buttigieg this week we need to recognize what it really is and also what the truth is.
We live in a time when we can no longer believe what we see, hear, or know to be factual. What was once right is now wrong. What was once wrong is now right. There is no clear definition of truth. The loss of truth and absolute standards of right and wrong is resulting is catastrophic cultural conditions.
As a believer who seeks to prioritize my faith, values, and relationship with God as the most important thing, approaching the tensions between the LGBT movement and Christian faith is achieved only with great caution. But a personal reckoning on this issue is necessary if I am to balance my faith and desire for the truth to a relevant lifestyle in this day and age.
