India and China

The situation between India and China continued to deteriorate. The number of deaths in the skirmish between the two countries raised from three to more than 20. China refuses to release any information to the public regarding how many Chinese died in the fighting. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi threatened a “befitting reply” to China and added that India’s soldier would not die in vain. Initial reports suggest the fighting was hand to hand combat and involved rocks and sticks to maintain no gunfire in the contested border zone.

Protests

There is a growing but subtle trend of people intent on terroristic violence using the protests still occurring across the country as cover. The government has charged two men in California with the death of a federal officer during recent protests in the city. Armed counter-protesters in Bethel, Ohio, arrived at a Black Lives Matter protest event over the weekend, and violence followed. The instigators of violence come from both sides of the protest movement with varying levels of intensity.
