This History of the European Union podcast series was released in 2013 by JB Shreve and the End of History. It was published at the height of the Eurozone debt crisis.

  • History of the European Union Part 2: Origin of the Idea – This episode looks at the history of the idea behind uniting Europe. The historical origins of this idea are older than most people realize. I also look at some of the leading figures that helped bring the idea into reality.

  • History of the European Union Part 3: The Beginning – The EU takes shape in the post war era.
  • History of the European Union Part 4: The Era of French Control – In the early years of the EU the French tried  to use it as a mechanism for their own power and control in Europe.
  • History of the European Union Part 5: Growth of the European Community – The community expands and new issues are confronted in the 60s and 70s.
  • History of the European Union Part 6: Opening of the East – This episode heads into the 80s and the fall of communism.
  • History of the European Union Part 7: European Union At Last – The fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of communism meant that the union finally had the potential to be a real European Union.
  • History of the European Union Part 8: Enter the Euro – Since the founding of the European Union a common currency had always been a key objective. Now it was finally becoming a reality.
  • History of the European Union Part 9: Seeds of the Crisis – The beginnings of the EU Crisis started taking place not long after the euro came into being. JB shows the path of excess and corruption that planted the seeds of the coming storm.
  • History of the European Union Part 10: The Eurozone Crisis – Then all those seeds started coming to fruition and the world had a full blown crisis on its hands.
