Growing unrest, division, chaos, and crisis surrounds us. In the midst of these moments, we are reminded we were made to live in these times. God promised that everything that can be shaken will be shaken.

In today’s podcast devotional JB Shreve looks at God’s Biblical promise and purpose to shake the earth and the heavens – everything attached to creation is bound to this fate. This is the time to identify what we are made of. Are we made of that which can be shaken or that which can remain stable and endure?

And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, “YET ONCE MORE I WILL SHAKE NOT ONLY THE EARTH, BUT ALSO THE HEAVEN.”  This expression, “Yet once more,” denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.  Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:26-29
